This procedure applies to the following scenarios

1. You just got your new UCA-FX08 and you have connected it to your network but you are not able to access the admin gui.
2. You just reset the UCA-FX08 to factory default by pressing the reset button and you are not able to connect to the admin gui anymore.

Introduction

The UCA-FX08 is configured with the following default IP addresses when shipped from the factory. This is also true when you reset the UCA-FX08 to factory default.

WAN Interface

• IP Address: 192.168.0.100
• Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
• Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

LAN Interface

• IP Address: 192.168.1.100
• Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
• Default Gateway: None

Your PC (we'll call it the "Admin PC" in this tutorial) needs to be in the same LAN as well as IP network as the UCA-FX08 in order to connect to the Admin GUI. This is especially true when you connect to the admin gui for the first time or when you have just factory reset the UCA-FX08 by pressing the reset button.

You can find your phone's IP address in 2 easy steps. You need to be in front of the phone in order to do this.

01Locate the OK button on your phone which is located at the center of the navigation keys on the phone keypad as shown in the picture below.

02Press the OK button and the IP Address of the phone will be displayed on the LCD Screen.

Summary

In order to load your logo image to your d28p phone, you need to first convert the logo into .dob format. You need an utility (PictureExDemo.exe) to convert your image to .dob format which is available under our download section as explained in the following steps. If your image is in .png or .jpg, .gif, etc format, you need to first convert the image to .bmp file using windows paint utility. Once you have converted your image to .bmp file, you'll then use PictureExDemo.exe utility to convert it into .dob file. You can then upload the .dob image to the phone. Following is the step-by-step procedure to prepare your logo and then upload it to your D28P phone.

A: The UCA-FX08 comes with default music on hold audio files which are sufficient for most installations. You can also upload your own custom music / message on hold files to the UCA-FX08. The UCA-FX08 does not support input for external MOH source at this time. This is one of the features we are considering to add in the future revisions of the chassis!

A: The UCA-FX08 supports echo cancellation in software. Hardware based echo cancellation is not supported yet on the UCA-FX08.

A: The current UCA-FX08 chassis is a desktop version and can be placed on desktop or shelf along with your wireless / Internet router and DSL/ cable modem. It does not support rack mount or wall mount installations. The 2nd revision of the chassis is under works and will be released in Jan 2010, which will support both rack & wall mount installation.

A: The default username & password for Phone Admin GUI is admin / admin. This is valid for both SIP-D28P & SIP-D26P phones. If you perform a factory reset and the default login does not work, please try admin / dreamwave. Some of the phone firmware releases had default password set to "dreamwave" (without quotes).

FXO and FXS are interfaces (ports or plugs) commonly used with analog phones and phones lines.
